About the artist

Renowned portrait artist Simon Butler has been commissined from all over the world and his reputation is growing all the time.

Artist Simon Butler believes that a good oil portrait should capture the personality and character of the subject in a special moment in time. Specialising in oil on canvas, his realistic approach has been appreciated by many, including his contemporaries.

Simon says he is a perfectionist and most happy when painting. He has been painting portraits since 1988, and he has received commissions for his paintings from all over the world. Over the years, Simon’s portrait subjects have included both people and animals.

Simon prefers to work from photographs of the client that he has taken himself, but he will also accept good quality photos from the client. He will also travel to the client’s home to photograph them, even if they live abroad, and this will reflect in the price of the portrait. If the client supplies the photographs, they should submit two or three good quality images showing close-ups of their face.

If you would like to make a income in your spare time or use the Internet to make money then please contact us for the chance of becoming a agent for Simon Butler.

Our galleries are based in Edinburgh and Glasgow City Centre and we have a worldwide customer base. Call us or e-mail if you have any enquiry as we are here to help. All artwork is original and in stock in either our Edinburgh or Glasgow gallery. You can use our wish list to request viewing in either gallery ( we move paintings to wherever suits the customer to view). Or feel free to phone us and arrange things. We will be delighted to help with advice on hanging & framing and you may take paintings home on approval before making a decision.
